According to the Sanborn Christian School, their mission is to educate children according to the standards set forth in the Scripture, the infallible Word of God. Sanborn Christian particularly emphasizes teaching students (Grades K-8) there personal relationships: to God, to fellow human beings, and to the creation. This state-certified private school is society run, and is open to all individuals regardless of church denomination. The school also offers many musical and athletic extracurricular activities.

The Sheldon Christian school says their mission is to prepare God’s children for a lifetime of Kingdom service by providing qualified, God-centered education. This is a full state- certified school that also offers a variety of other activities including: track, soccer, volleyball, basketball, choir, and instrumental band. Grades currently taught are K – 8, however a new preschool program will be in place by the fall of 1999.

St. John’s offers a full state-certified elementary school from K-8 including academic, athletic, music and spiritual components. All teachers are state-certified. A 4 year old preschool is also offered, which meets 2 days a week. Enrollment is open to all students regardless of church membership.

For the convenience of families who also have children enrolled in the local school district, St. John’s school year calendar corresponds to that of the South O’Brien School District.
