Free Transportation to the
VAMC - Sioux Falls
O'Brien County veterans will
soon be able to ride a new 15-passenger DAV Transportation
Van to the Sioux Falls VA Medical Center!
In collaboration with the County VA Service Offices in Clay,
Palo Alto and Sioux Counties, O'Brien County VA Administrator
Deanna Akeson has been working to provide free transportation
for O'Brien County veterans with appointments at the Sioux
Falls VA Medical Center.
The van will soon be delivered to the Medical Center and
volunteer drivers are currently going through training. It is
hoped that this transportation network will be up and running
by July 1st. The van route will originate in Clay County and
travel through O'Brien and Sioux counties via Highway 18.
There will be specific stops in each of the cities along
Highway 18. More information will be available soon.
If you may be interested in becoming a volunteer driver or
wish to know more about the new transportation services to
the medical center, give the VA office a call or send an
email.
Veteran Service Organizations throughout the county must be
acknowledged and thanked for their support of this new
veteran's transportation van, for without their verbal and
monetary support this dream would not have been realized!
Thank you once again for your continuing service!
