Primghar, Iowa, July 23, 2014 – The O’Brien County Value Added Ag Committee presented the South O’Brien and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn FFA chapters with a $250 sponsorship each at the O’Brien County Fair on Tuesday evening, July 22, 2014. This donation award is to be used to assist with their expenses to attend the National FFA Convention & Expo in Louisville, Kentucky this fall. The Value Added Ag Committee feels it is important to invest in our local youth and help to expand their knowledge and understanding of the agricultural world.

The O’Brien County Value Added Ag Committee was also able to be a contributing sponsor at the Central Plains Dairy Expo Prayer Breakfast in Sioux Falls this past March in the amount of $500.00. The Value Added Ag Committee’s mission is to enhance the quality of life in O’Brien County by adding value to our agricultural resources. Working to promote the dairy industry is one area of focus for the Value Added Ag Committee.
