Safe Travel Over The Next Few Days

Safe Travel Over The Next Few Days

February 21, 2013

Although the forecasted snow has not reached Northwest Iowa at this time and it is difficult to stay current on the latest predictions, the O’Brien County Conservation Board wants everyone to be safe.

As we prepare for Old Man Winter’s coming blast, whether that includes drifts of snow or only a few flakes, please remember a few things if you must go:

* Call ahead to confirm your plans.

* If you are planning on attending a public event, listen to your local media to confirm if there has been a change – cancelation or postponement.

* Make room for our county and state road workers: give them plenty of time to clear the roads before you venture out, plenty of room when you go, & never pass a snow plow.

* Provide extra traveling time.

* Pack a winter survival kit for all of your winter travel.

* Most Importantly - Stay Safe!
