Two O’Brien County Organizations Receive Awards at Northwest Iowa Development Partners Meeting

Primghar, Iowa – The Fifth Annual Northwest Iowa Development (NWID) Partners Meeting was held at Northwest Iowa Community College (NCC) in Sheldon on September 15. More than 140 community and regional leaders from the six-county NWID region representing economic development, business , city councils and boards of supervisors and others with an interest in growing the region attended the meeting, held in the Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center at NWICC.

Of the four regional awards presented, two found their home in O’Brien County. NWID Board members Mark Buschkamp and Kiana Johnson presented the Kirk Grau Business Innovation Award to David De Kok, owner of DK Plastics of Archer. The NWID Beyond Expectations Economic Development Support Award was presented by Buschkamp and Johnson to Board President Dr. Andy Schierholz of the Hartley Economic Development Corporation.
