“The Highland wind farm is one of the largest land-based wind farms currently under construction in the United States and will be MidAmerican Energy’s largest wind farm upon completion this year,” said Adam Jablonski, project manager, wind development for MidAmerican Energy. “We are happy to invest in O’Brien County where there is some of the best wind resources in the state and good access to transmission lines to get the power we generate to our customers’ homes and businesses. The project provides additional economic benefits including jobs, landowner lease payments and an increase in property taxes. It also helps MidAmerican Energy to keep electricity rates stable and affordable for customers and demonstrates our commitment to the environment.”
O'Brien County recently became a Home Base Iowa Community. Follow the link below to find out what this means for Veterans and Service Members.
