Clean Line Energy Partners has narrowed its location options for a $250 million power converter station to two O'Brien County sites, but it is not disclosing exactly where.


In January, the Houston -based green energy company announced intentions to build its converter station in O'Brien County, a central location for its 500-mile overhead high-voltage direct current transmission line from N'West Iowa to the power grid near Morris, IL.


Clean Line Energy Partners will host regional open houses in late August aimed at bringing together individuals and companies that could assist in the construction and implementation of the Rock Island Clean Line.
